HISTORY

For more than a century, the Piro family has been handing down, from generation to generation, the wide experience of the iron processing. At first, the family operated in a small shop in the historic center of Pignola (PZ) where Francesco Piro and his son, Luigi, mostly produced tiny artefacts (horseshoes and handicrafts).

Lately, the activity became a real workshop and, with the advent of "Mastro" Salvatore, the Piro family began to deal with metal carpentry on behalf of third parties and got involved in a wide craftsmanship production of stairs, gates, railings and fixtures. The considerable technique of Salvatore and his dedication to work, also recognised by the Italian Order of Merit for Labour, earned him the title of "Cavaliere del lavoro".

Subsequently, Salvatore and his sons Nicola and Carlo, took a further step by moving the business, from the small Pignola, to the industrial area of Potenza, in 1989. Here the workshop became a small company operating in the craft and metal carpentry sectors, developing a long lasting partnership with multinational companies such as Marcegaglia and Dalminels.

Later and gradually, the small work benches gave way to modern automated machineries. This process culminated with the purchase of the Laser Cutting Machine in 2018 and with the company which is currently adapting to the Industry 4.0 standards.
